All Hemmingway’s rooms and suites are extremely comfortable, have ocean views, are within yards of the beach and benefit from 24 hour room service. All have bathrooms with showers ensuite. There is air-conditioning and fans throughout, & rooms also have mosquito nets, personal safes and room fridges.
The deep sea fishing centre offers sport fishing in the exciting waters off Watamu. Marlin, sailfish, shark, tuna and other big game fish can be found in plenty. Other water sports including snorkeling, diving, windsurfing and waterskiing are also available. Excursions to local places of interest include Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, a unique stretch of coastal forest with a rich biodiversity, Gedi Ruins, a ruined 12th century town, and other local attractions. The restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean and seats 200 people, with additional seating for 100 on the outside terrace.
Hemingways offers a wide range of international styles, ranging from sophisticated recipes with delicate sauces, to simple cooking of the finest ingredients. Table d',hote', menus are a mixture of international and local favorites, with daily vegetarian options. Serves buffets on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday lunch including Mongolian, Italian and Indian specialties. Live cooking is a major feature including not only main dishes but also pasta and salad stations.
During the calmer months (December to March), dinner is served on the terrace, with the sounds of the sea, the light of the moon and the stars, and the rustle of the trade winds in the palms for company.

ROOM AMENITIES: The majority of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms and every room has a mosquito net over the beds. 9 rooms have a sea view and the other rooms are spread out in tropical gardens a short walk away from the beach.
There are two luxury cottages situated in a private walled garden with their own swimming pool. Each cottage has two double ensuite bedrooms with a living room and veranda overlooking the pool. Sea view rooms have tea and coffee delivered outside their rooms in the morning. Cots can be supplied on request.
A new addition to the Driftwood is three luxury self-catering villas situated in secluded private premises directly behind the club with a private swimming pool. Two of the villas have 2 double air-conditioned bedrooms and one villa has a third single room. Each villa has its own kitchen, living/dining room and veranda overlooking the swimming pool. Guests can, if they so wish, make full use of the Driftwood facilities and if they prefer not to do their own catering, dine at the Driftwood Beach club.
